Consulting Services

For a company with “Consultants” in its name, we don’t actually get a chance to do much general consulting these days. But it’s hard to escape your roots completely, so we’re happy to accept special projects such as data migration, software development, testing, training, and other areas in which we have particular experience and expertise.

Software Development Methodologies and Software Quality

Our founders have taught classes on formal code inspection practices to companies like Hewlett-Packard, and have a passion for excellence in software development methodologies that actually work.

We also have experience in usability and “destructive” software testing, and we love to help our software development partners make sure that their software is as reliable and user-friendly as possible before it gets shipped.

Training

We have taught numerous classes around the world on a variety of subjects, such as:

  • The Eloquence database management system
  • PA-RISC architecture and assembly language programming and debugging
  • HP-UX system administration
  • MPE/iX Internals and low-level software development
  • MPE/iX system administration
  • Software Inspection Methodology
  • Netbase for high availability and clustering

Software Migration and MPE/iX Homesteading

We’ve helped many MPE/iX users with their software migrations, and we provide ongoing support to those who can’t (or don’t want to) leave the platform. We can offer our experience to help you make the best decisions for your business and your particular needs and challenges. If you’re planning on keeping some or all of your MPE/iX applications, we can help you ensure you have a robust, reliable, secure and sustainable computing environment for these systems.

Software Development

We have considerable experience in system-level development for several platforms, including driver-level development on HP-UX and MPE/iX, as well as other UNIX platforms. We have often consulted for 3rd party tool developers looking for a way to accomplish exotic things that require low-level hooks into the operating system, I/O, etc.

Please contact us if you think we might be able to help you in any of these areas.
