COMPRDDS is an unsupported privileged program that tries to3 enable (or disable) DDS hardware data compression. To ENABLE compression, run COMPRDDS with a NEGATIVE ldev of the DDS drive in PARM. E.g., RUN COMPRDDS;PARM = -7 To DISABLE compression, run COMPRDDS with a POSITIVE ldev of the DDS drive in PARM. E.g., RUN COMPRDDS;PARM = 7I NOTE: this program has no way of determining if compression is actually enabled or disabled. To determine that, try theo following: 1) logon as MANAGER.SYS 2) enter: sysdiag 3) enter: run scsidds; ldev=7; section=interactiveh (or whatever ldev your DDS is) 4) enter: modesense 5) enter: 4 6) look for:4 DCE - Data Compression Enable = 0 DCC - Data Compression Capable = 1 DDE - Data Decompression Enable = 1 The "DCE" line will have a 1 if compression is enabled, anda a 0 if it is not enabled.a 7) enter: exit (to terminate SCSIDDS) 8) enter: exit (to terminate sysdiag/DUI) COMPRDDS 20140821 Copyright (c) 1996 Allegro Consultants, Inc.
